MedCom offers a useful tool for streamlining operations - an inexpensive desktop terminal that processes both healthcare and financial transactions on the spot.

For healthcare transactions, the system provides: Real-time processing for Eligibility and Service Authorizations; Paperless Claims Submission and Processing for all health plans and carriers in the U.S.; Real-time Claims Status, and Referral Certification.

For financial transactions, the system provides credit & debit card processing plus payment options helpful to patients (through Bank of America Merchant Services). A check guarantee feature electronically transfers funds from a patient’s checking account. An Easy Pay feature creates a credit card signature file for automatic payment when patient responsibility is later determined. There is also an option to provide loans against accounts receivable.

All transactions are HIPAA compliant. The terminal connects through standard phone or fax lines, or through a web portal, if desired, that will interface with most practice management software.

The MedCom System improves processing efficiencies and significantly reduces administrative expenses. To verify patient eligibility, for example, simply swipe a patient's insurance card ( or key in data) for details on the spot.
