CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION

The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine offers high-quality continuing medical education materials for its members. AAUCM Category-1 CME credits are available through a variety of sources including ExamMaster OnLine, the annual Urgent Care Medicine Conference, and soon, through the new URGENT CARE journal.

As a complementary service to our members, the AAUCM will track and store all of your CME information, even if you didn’t earn the credits from us! Simply fax, email or mail a copy of your completion certificate(s) or CME activity reports and we will keep a record of your CME credit hours. At the end of the year, you can request a printout detailing your CME activity for the year.

CME Mission Statement
The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) is committed to bringing change in Healthcare provider behavior through innovative educational programs that improve patient care.

CME Needs
The continuing medical education activities presented here seek to address the practicing physician’s need for excellence in clinical practice and/or management. The ultimate intent is the pursuit of both improved patient care and professional satisfaction.

Target Audience
The CME activity is intended for all physicians and other health professionals with an interest in the improvement of their clinical skills and/or practice management. It is relevant to all health care providers who provide primary/ ambulatory urgent care medicine.

Accreditation
The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation
The AAUCM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activities.

Disclosure Policy
As a provider accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME); The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine requires written, signed disclosure of the existence of relevant financial interests or relationships with commercial interest within the last 12 months from any individual in a position to control the content of a CME activity sponsored by the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine. Individuals who refuse to disclose relevant financial relationships will be disqualified from tall aspects associated with this CME activity.

Evidence-Based Content Statement
Educational activities that assist physicians in carrying out their professional responsibilities more effectively and efficiently are consistent with the ACCME definition of continuing medical education (CME) As an ACCME-accredited provider of CME, it is the policy of the AAUCM to review and ensure that all the content and any recommendations, treatments, and manners of practicing medicine in CME activities are scientifically based, valid, and relevant to the practice o f medicine, AAUCM is responsible for validating the content of the CME activities it provides. Specifically, (1) all recommendation addressing the medical care of patients must be based on evidence that is scientifically sound and recognized as such within the profession; and (2) all scientific research referred to, reported, or used in CME in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to general accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and analysis.

There are four ways you can earn CME with the AAUCM!

URGENT CARE Journal
URGENT CARE, the official journal of the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, is a multidisciplinary journal reaching the exciting new market of urgent care. The journal is devoted to this dynamic, rapidly growing marketplace. Up to two Category-1 CME credits are available for each issue. To learn more, click the URGENT CARE logo.

ExamMaster OnLine
Physicians are able to earn up to 40 CME credit hours per year CME. Credits are available in blocks of 10.

• 150 CME questions (10 credit hours) - $100

• 300 CME questions (20 credit hours) - $200

• 450 CME questions (30 credit hours) - $300

• 600 CME questions (40 credit hours) - $400

Urgent Care Medicine Conference
Credits are available for attending qualified talks and workshops at the AAUCM annual conference. Please click here for information about the annual conference.

Whether you earn your CME from the Journal, ExamMaster OnLine, or the annual conference, you will receive a certificate of completion from the AAUCM for your CME activities.
