PRESS RELEASE                                                                                                             FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AAUCM and IMEP Partner Together to Provide CME for AAUCM Members

Orlando, FL – The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM), in its goal to provide high-quality Continuing Medical Education materials for its members, has joined together with the Institute of Medical Emergency Preparedness (IMEP) to provide AAUCM members online medical emergency preparedness through IMEP Medical Emergency Membership.

The first ten minutes following a medical emergency are critical to an individual's chances for survival. The IMEP membership enhances a healthcare office’s preparedness to manage the medical emergency in those crucial moments. AAUCM members will have the opportunity to earn up to 50 hours of Continuing Medical Education each year through the IMEP online CME program.

Through its CME programs, the AAUCM works to define the scope of the specialty of Urgent Care Medicine, increasing provider expertise within the field and developing standards of practice. Because patients with a wide variety of medical needs utilize Urgent Care centers, physicians working in these centers require broad experience and education. Through the IMEP online CME program, AAUCM members will be able to increase their medical emergency awareness and develop the skills and abilities necessary to contend with medical emergency situations.

About IMEP
IMEP is an innovative leader for healthcare professionals and their team members in preparing for medical emergencies within the medical field. IMEP is recognized by national and state organizations and associations across the United States as the preferred provider of medical emergency preparedness. The goal of IMEP is to make Medical Emergency Preparedness a core competency in every healthcare office; and through enabling education, prepare the healthcare professional and their team to respond calmly, effectively and efficiently during the extremely critical time period between the onset of an emergency incident and the arrival of EMS professionals. These skills may be the difference in the life of a patient and the preservation of your practice.
